International Security and Defense Studiy Group - GEDES
Founded in 2001, at the Faculty of History, Law, and Social Work, Unesp - Franca Campus, on the initiative of a group of professors and students interested in the theme of Peace, Defence and International Security. It is constituted as an Academic Group within the structure of the University, and was the first on the Franca campus to be recognized by CNPq as a research group.

National Institute of Science and Technology for Studies on the United States - INCT-INEU
It primarily focuses on analyzing US foreign relations. Given its centrality in the world system, the scope of the Institute is quite broad. Because the US has long defined its interests in a global perspective, the Institute’s work involves considering the international regimes and regional contexts in which the US operates.

Political Observatory of the United States - OPEU
This electronic portal and database focuses on US domestic and foreign policy. Rather than competing with journalistic outlets, it aims to develop a channel to disseminate information and analytical content on relevant current events.

Study and Research Group on International Conflicts - GEPCI
Created in 2010 at the Unesp School of Philosophy and Sciences - Marília Campus, it develops studies and analyses of the main contemporary armed conflicts and the mechanisms to resolve them based on theoretical approaches that aim to find their internal and external conditioning factors, the mechanisms to resolve them (especially their perspectives and limitations), and the interference of the various actors in this process to define the security dynamics in the international system.

Study Group on International Conflicts - GECI
It seeks to monitor international conflicts by an interdisciplinary approach to violence in contemporary times, focusing on historical sociology anad considering the dynamics of transnational processes and actors. This space for theoretical reflection and readings on the current processes of violence seeks to exchange experiences between its members in research proposals and the production of specialized conjunctural analysis that contributes to the plurality of scientific production in International Relations.

Regionalism Observatory - ODR
This extension and research group dedicates itself to the phenomenon of regionalism in the international order. The initiative was launched in 2015 by the PPGRI STD student body as a space for investigations and dialogue between researchers, specialists, students, and professors to foster debates on regional integration and cooperation initiatives. Despite its focus on the processes in force in the Americas, the Observatory of Regionalism also studies and analyzes other regions of the world, such as Europe, Africa, and Asia, using the methodology of comparative regionalism in most of its research.
Via partnerships and joint activities with other Universities and Academic Institutions in the country, the group is part of national and international research networks, such as the DIPP NETWORK (Brazil), the Jean Monet Programme and UNU-CRIS (Belgium), the EU-LAC Project (European Union), GRIDALE (Colombia), CRIES (Argentina), and FOMERCO (Brazil).

Center for Transnational Security Studies - NETS
Created in 2019 from GECI, the center is linked to the PPGRI STD and the Professional Master’s Degree in Global Governance and International Policymaking at Puc-SP. It is composed of research professors from several institutions and Puc-SP undergraduate, master’s, and doctorate students who take interest in the transnational dimension of contemporary (in)security. It aims to monitor the evolution of the production of its members (especially students), invest in academic productions (including joint ones), and create a research network that articulates themes related to the transnationality of crime, drug prohibition and regulation, and contemporary security mechanisms.

Center for Studies in International Relations - NERI
NERI aims to understand the contemporary dynamics of global governance, emphasizing current debates on multilateralism, regionalism, and issues related to international political economy, human rights, the environment, and international migration. Its activities seek to understand the actors and processes associated with the governance agenda, including the hegemonic diffusion of international norms, the role of the countries of the South and emerging countries, the interaction between policies at multiple and overlapping scales (international, regional, national, and local), and the inclusion of private actors and civil society in less formalized international arrangements, which is evinced empirically and in the theoretical debates on the crisis of classical multilateralism and the emergence of “hybrid,” “flexible,” or “polycentric” regimes.

Study Group on International Environmental Policy and Law - GEPDAI
GEPDAI seeks to work with inter- and transdisciplinarity to study environmental policy and law in its multiple scales and interconnections based on critical perspectives of the human and social sciences and the dialogue of knowledge and interculturality. It prioritizes decolonial perspectives and the political struggle of indigenous peoples and the pluriverse of their worldviews. It promotes meetings horizontal discussions between members and participating professors, resulting in reflections and productions about the dichotomy society-environment, environmental conflicts, environmental justice, environmental policies, among other topics of high relevance in the current global context.

Simulated Practices Laboratory ‘San Tiago Dantas’ (LPS-STD)
This PPGRI STD extension project was inaugurated in 2021 in partnership with the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in São Paulo (ERESP) and the Paulo Souza Center, it collaborates in the implementation of the United Nations Simulation Model Project for Secondary Education (MONUEM-ERESP). It consists of the contribution and interaction between researchers from master’s and doctoral courses and PPGRI STD graduates. Since 2025, it has been linked to NERI.
