Isabela Agostinelli dos Santos, with “Palestinian death and life: the tactical reorientation of Israeli colonialism in the Gaza Strip” (“Morte e vida palestina: a reorientação tática do colonialismo israelense na Faixa de Gaza”), received the award for the best Doctoral Thesis (under the supervision of Prof. Reginaldo Mattar Nasser).

 

CAPES Thesis Award — 2023

David Paulo Succi Junior, with “Legitimating violence: military operations within Brazilian borders” (“Legitimando a violência: operações militares dentro das fronteiras brasileiras”), received an award for the best Doctoral Thesis in Political Science and International Relations by CAPES (under the supervision of Prof. Héctor Luis Saint Pierre).

Best Doctoral Thesis Award from the Brazilian Association of Defense Studies — 2022

Matías Daniel Avelino Ferreyra Wachholtz, with “Multinational military forces in the Global South: isodependence and the quest for autonomy in the security geoculture” received the award for the best Doctoral Thesis (under the supervision of Prof. Samuel Alves Soares).

Bruno Huberman, with “The neoliberal colonization of Jerusalem after Oslo: development, pacification and resistance in Palestine/Israel” (“A colonização neoliberal de Jerusalém após Oslo: desenvolvimento, pacificação e resistência em Palestina/Israel”), received the award for the best Doctoral Thesis (under the supervision of Prof. Reginaldo Mattar Nasser).

Thesis and Dissertation Contest of ABRI — 2017

Matheus de Oliveira Pereira, with “Control and Autonomy in the Kirchner and Fernández de Kirchner administrations (2003-2011): Argentina in the construction of the South American Defense Council” (“Controle e Autonomia nas gestões Kirchner e Fernández de Kirchner (2003-2011): a Argentina na construção do Conselho de Defesa Sul-Americano”), received the award for the best Master’s Dissertation (under the supervision of Prof. Luis Fernando Ayerbe).

Fernando Santomauro, with “The United States Information Agency and its action in Brazil from 1953 to 1964” (“A United States Information Agency e sua ação no Brasil de 1953 a 1964”), received an award as the best Doctoral Thesis in Political Science and International Relations (under the supervision of Prof. Clodoaldo Bueno).

Priscila Villela, with “The international dimensions of Brazilian policies to combat drug trafficking in the 1990s” (“As dimensões internacionais das políticas brasileiras de combate ao tráfico de drogas na década de 1990”), received the award for the best Master’s Dissertation (under the supervision of Prof. Paulo José dos Reis Pereira).
